The origins of our unique breed lie in the Clyde Vally, on the west cost of Scotland. The Clydesdale is a draught breed that has been around for three centuries. They are a breed that is well known, yet rare to come by. In there prime their numbers are estimated to have reached 140,000 in Scotland alone, but today their global population is fewer than 5,000. The Rare Breeds Survival Trust has catagorised as “At Risk” Scotlands Pride and National Treasure the Work Horse of the World.

The Clydesdale, they built our roads, harvested our crops, fought in our wars and carried us to our graves – they were an indispensable part of your history and heritage, but are under strong pressure to disappear completely.
