Blackstone Farm has been the Duncan family home since the 1930’s. We are a working stock farm with a small select breeding herd of prize winning Clydesdale Horses and Champion Highland Coos, with other farm animals such as Alpacas, Pigs, Sheep, Hens, Geese, Ducks, Pea Fowl, Dogs and our cheeky Donkey Bubbles.
Our aim at the centre is to share our passion and knowledge of our Clydesdale Horses with you, giving you the chance to experience the magic of our Clydesdales, learn about their lives and witness first hand these magnificent animals.

Scotlands Pride and national treasure the workhorse of the world the Clydesdale. They built our roads, harvest our crops, fought in our wars and carried us to your graves – they were an indispensable part of your history and heritage, but are under strong pressure to disappear completely.
As we face uncertain times and the challenges ahead we can help lead the way with their adaptability, sensitivity and ability to mirror human behaviour, they are here to walk beside us, support us and teach us. A breed with a true legacy worthy of preservation.
Our hope is that every visitor will take away special memories and become a friend of the Blackstone Family.
Blackstone Farm Experiences
Private one or two hour Blackstone Farm Riding Experience, where you can be hands on grooming, assisting tacking up or just ride! Ride set at your pace and riding skills whether on your own or with friends and family.
Suitable for Non, Novice and Experienced Riders – from £75.00 per person
Two hour leisurely trek off farm on Boswell Estate pathways or crank it up and go for the heavy horse adrenaline rush galloping in open fields steeped in generations of history, enjoying the beautiful scenery as you go, finish off with a light lunch, cake and coffee in Boswells Coach House Coffee House.
Suitable for novice and experienced riders – £180.00 per person
Private three hour leisurely trek starting at Blackstone Farm riding to Dumfries House Estate on pathways steep in generations of history, then meandering back to the farm to enjoy a faster pace in Blackstone fields enjoying the beautiful scenery as you go.
Suitable for experienced riders at all paces/gates – £180.00 per person
Two hour Clydesdale beach experience, riding our beautiful Clydesdales on the sand and in the sea at our local beach, with views to the Island of Arran and Greenan Castle.
Suitable for existing, competent/experienced riders at all paces/gates – £150.00 per person.
Private Beach suitable for non, novice and experienced riders – £210 per person
Private two hour leisurely trek off farm at Rozelle Estate, Ayr, meandering on pathways steeped in generations of history, enjoying the beautiful seasonal scenery as you go.
This is a slower paced ride suitable for novice to advanced riders looking for a gentler ride – £180.00 per person
Private four hour Rozelle and Beach Combo suitable for experienced and advanced riders – £300 per person
Four hour private hands on experience with an opportunity to groom, cuddle, walk, work in harness, ride, drive and treat your Clydesdale, with your guide by your side.
Suitable for non, novice and experienced riders – £270.00 per person
One or two hour private Digger experience whether on you own or with friends or family.

No driving licence required – from £88.00 per person
In your private 90 minute driving experience whether on your own, with family or friends, assist with grooming and harnessing your Clydesdale/s then take the rains.
No Driving experience necessary – from £120.00 per person
One hour private hands on experience with an opportunity to groom, cuddle, walk and treat your Clydesdale, with your guide by your side.
Suitable for non, novice and experienced riders – £80.00 per person
Private guided one hour walking tour of Blackstone farm residents with your personal guide, meeting our amazing Clydesdale horses and all other farm animals, while finding out about us and our animals history.
